Edit PDF keep the fonts

Click any paragraph in a PDF to edit it directly, like Adobe Acrobat. New text reuses the fonts embedded in the file, so it matches the rest of the document. Files are processed on your device and never uploaded.

How to edit text in a PDF

  1. Open a PDF: drag and drop or pick a file from your device. Editable paragraphs show a blue outline.
  2. Click the paragraph you want to change and type the new text. The edit box uses the file's own font and wraps to the width of the original paragraph.
  3. Adjust the formatting in the panel on the right: font, size, color, left, center, right or justified alignment. Click Delete text to remove the paragraph.
  4. Drag the outline to move a paragraph. Switch to Add text and click an empty area to add new text.
  5. Download the edited PDF. Images, tables, signatures and other pages stay unchanged.

How are the original fonts kept?

Like Adobe Acrobat, the tool reads the fonts embedded in the PDF (Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri…) and writes the new text with those same fonts, at the same size, color and line spacing. The edited paragraph matches the rest of the document.

Most PDFs only embed the characters used in the document to keep the file small. If you type a character the original font does not have, the panel on the right warns you and only that character uses a matching font: Liberation Sans for Arial, Liberation Serif for Times New Roman, Liberation Mono for Courier New. These fonts have the same metrics as the originals, so lines keep their length.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The file is opened and edited in your browser and never leaves your device. You can even go offline once the page has loaded.

Is it free? Does it add a watermark?

It is free, needs no sign-up, has no limit on the number of files and adds no watermark to your download.

Why do a few characters look slightly different after editing?

PDFs usually embed only the characters they use. New characters the original font lacks are written with a matching font (Liberation Sans, Serif, Mono). The panel on the right lists these characters as you type.

Will editing remove signatures, images or other pages?

No. The tool only replaces the paragraphs you edit. Images, tables, lines, links and other pages stay the same. Digital signatures, if any, will no longer be valid because the file content changed.

Can I edit scanned PDFs?

Not yet. A scan is an image with no real text to edit. Run text recognition (OCR) first to add a text layer.
