How to make an ID photo
- Take a photo: stand straight, look at the camera, with even light on both sides of your face, framed down to your chest. A simple background gives the cleanest cut.
- Add the photo: drag and drop, pick from your device or paste with Ctrl+V. AI removes the background, finds your face and centers your head in the frame.
- Choose a size and background color: 3x4, 4x6, 2x3, passport, visa or a custom size. White for passports and visas, blue for many other documents.
- Fine-tune if needed: drag the photo to move it, use Head size to fit the oval, Rotate if your head is tilted, and adjust Brightness and Contrast.
- Download a single photo, or a print sheet of 10x15 cm (photo shop) or A4 (home printer) with several photos and cut lines.

Rules can differ between offices, so check the requirements of the place receiving your documents. For another size, choose Custom and enter the width and height in mm.
Tips for a compliant ID photo
- Shoot in even light and avoid shadows on your face and behind you. Daylight from a window works well.
- Hold the phone at eye level about 1-1.5 m away. Shooting too close distorts the face.
- No sunglasses or hats, and keep hair off your eyebrows and ears if required.
- Downloads are 300 DPI JPGs at the real size. At a photo shop, print at 10x15 cm with no scaling.

Why do I have to wait the first time?
Background removal and face detection AI run on your device, so the first time the browser downloads the models (about 26 MB and 15 MB). After that they load instantly.
How do I print the sheet at the right size?
Download the 10x15 cm sheet and print it at a photo shop as a 10x15 (4R) print with no scaling. At home, choose the A4 sheet and print at 100% (Actual size), not Fit to page.
The automatic framing is a little off. How do I fix it?
Drag the photo to move it and use Head size so your head (top of hair to chin) fits the oval, with your eyes near the horizontal line. Click Auto align to go back to the AI framing.
Does it work on phones?
